Sweden's producer e-service
Sweden runs registration and reporting through one online service at the environment agency. Producentansvarsregistret is the Swedish EPR producer register, run by Naturvårdsverket, and it takes in seven waste streams before you supply the market.
What the register covers
Each of the seven streams sits under its own ordinance.

Batteries run through three approved schemes, Batterikretsen, Batteriretur and FoRetur. Packaging rules change again on 12 August 2026 when the EU PPWR applies.

Producers that first place a covered product on the Swedish market, importers and distance sellers included.
Using the e-service
- Identify which of the seven streams apply.
- If a foreign producer, appoint a Sweden-based producentombud where required (see below).
- Register in Naturvårdsverket's producer e-service.
- Use or run an approved PRO for the stream, and report through the e-service.
The producentombud route
A foreign producer may appoint a Sweden-established representative, a producentombud, registered in the same e-service. It is mandatory for electronics distance sellers.
Without one, the foreign producer carries the Swedish obligations itself.
