Czech packaging has its own register
Packaging in Czechia runs under a different law from the other streams, and its own register. Seznam osob is the Czech packaging EPR register, held in VISOH2 by the Ministry of the Environment, and most companies meet the duty by contracting the authorised packaging company EKO-KOM.
Producers that do not contract EKO-KOM list themselves individually instead.
What the register covers
Packaging placed on the Czech market under the Packaging Act. EKO-KOM is currently the sole authorised packaging company, and the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation applies from 12 August 2026, layering new obligations on top.
Who has to register
Persons that first place packaging on the Czech market, meaning manufacturers, fillers, importers and distance sellers.
Contracting EKO-KOM or listing yourself
- Determine whether you place packaging on the Czech market.
- Either contract EKO-KOM, which handles reporting and take-back financing, or arrange individual compliance.
- If not contracting EKO-KOM, list yourself in Seznam osob through VISOH2.
- Report packaging volumes and pay the applicable contributions.
Foreign producers and the representative
A foreign person placing packaging on the Czech market may appoint a Czech-established authorised representative. An authorised packaging company cannot itself act as that representative, and contracting EKO-KOM replaces the individual listing.
Czech packaging terms
- Seznam osob: the packaging register under the Packaging Act.
- EKO-KOM: the sole authorised packaging company most producers contract.
- VISOH2: the information system the register sits in.
Czechia's other register
Electronics, batteries and tyres are handled in a separate Czech register, Seznam výrobců. This page is the packaging register.

Frequently asked questions about Seznam osob
Short answers to what producers ask most.
Who has to register?
Any manufacturer, filler, importer or distance seller that first places packaging on the Czech market.
