Slovenia's electronics producer register
Electronics have their own Slovenian register, held by the ministry rather than the environment agency. This is the Slovenian WEEE producer register, kept by MOPE, and both producers and their authorised representatives are entered in it before equipment goes on the market.
Applications are filed through the SPOT business portal.
What the register covers
Electrical and electronic equipment under the Slovenian WEEE decree. The register lists producers alongside the authorised representatives that foreign producers appoint.
Who must register
Producers that first place electrical or electronic equipment on the Slovenian market, importers and distance sellers included.
Applying through SPOT
- Confirm your equipment falls under the WEEE decree.
- If a foreign producer or distance seller, appoint a Slovenian authorised representative (see below).
- Apply for entry in the MOPE register through the SPOT portal, before placing equipment on the market.
- Join a compliance scheme and report as required.
Foreign producers and the representative
Foreign producers and distance sellers of electronics act through a Slovenian authorised representative. The representative is entered in the register alongside the producer, and the producer-representative contract accompanies the application.
Slovenian terms you will meet
- MOPE: the ministry that holds the register.
- SPOT: the state business portal used to apply.
Slovenia's other registers
Slovenia splits its registers by stream. Batteries have the MOPE battery register, and packaging, single-use plastics and fishing gear run through ARSO. This page is the electronics register.
