WEEE EPR in Romania has the highest compliance barrier in this country. Registration in the national EEE producer register at ANPM (also referred to as ANMAP) is a precondition for placing electronics on the market.
The registration itself is nominal. The real cost is the scheme fee per category and weight, set by the collective scheme you join (ECOTIC and others). No official Romanian fee amount is published.
For household EEE, a financial guarantee adds a layer: you must show that the cost of future waste management is covered, whether through scheme participation, recycling insurance, or a blocked bank account.
