Textiles EPR in Czech Republic does not exist yet. The revised EU Waste Framework Directive, in force since 16 October 2025, requires every member state to have a textile and footwear EPR scheme by 17 April 2028.
Czechia has an MŽP strategy and a March 2026 Q&A document but no draft law, no register and no fee structure.
Who the future Czech textile rules will cover
The EU directive targets producers and importers that place new clothing, footwear and household textiles on the market. Three roles will carry the duty once a Czech scheme is enacted:
- Manufacturers placing new textiles on the Czech market
- Importers bringing new textiles into Czechia
- Distance sellers shipping new textiles to Czech buyers
The scope and detailed definitions will come with national transposition, due 17 June 2027.
What you pay and how to prepare in Czech Republic
Think of the cost picture in three layers, and all three are empty today.
There is no register to join, no scheme fee to pay and no reporting deadline to meet. The one duty already live is upstream: separate textile collection has been mandatory since 1 January 2025 at the municipal level, and that collection infrastructure will feed the future scheme.
